Dr. Grace Nedelchev, Regional Director of Europe, reports the beginning of a new Training Program for Women, in the city of Skopie, Macedonia. While the first group of delegates represented only one denomination, they came from the whole country of Macedonia.  Grace and several leaders from Bulgaria visited the leaders in Macedonia to encourage them and share the experience of working on a wider level through the Evangelical Alliance. “This was an open door to partnership between the two countries,” states Nedelchev.

Along with many churches, Women’s Commission participated in a petition and rally, initiated by church youth in Bulgaria, against changing family law to accept and legalize cohabitation and quick divorce. This petition was presented to Parliament.

The year 2008 has been declared The Year of the Bible in Bulgaria, by the BEA, the Bible Society and the Bible League. Women’s Commission will be involved in activities promoting this theme.

Dr. Nedelchev is now preparing for the Bulgarian National Women’s Conference to be held May 23rd, 24th, 2008, with the theme The Challenges of the 21st Century for the Christian Woman. She requests prayer for each of the above intentions.
