For the first time delegates to the conference took time
to pray together on the first morning of the conference. |

Evangelical Fellowship of
Canada: EFC
Speaks out on Religious Freemdom in Sri Lanka
On July 20, the EFC Religious
Liberty Commission (RLC) issued a prayer
alert and sent letters to the Sri Lankan government
expressing concern over proposed legislation being considered
by its Parliament that would regulate religious conversions

The Sri Lankan Parliament is considering
the proposed Anti-Conversion Bill (mentioned above) which
has now passed its 2nd Reading. Presently, the ‘Prohibition
of Forcible Conversions Bill’ is being considered
by a Standing Committee of Parliamentarians. |

Opens Advocacy Office in Geneva
The
World Evangelical Alliance in partnership with the
Swiss Evangelical Alliance (l'Alliance évangélique
suisse) opened a new office in Geneva, Switzerland
this week, as part of its long-term efforts to strengthen
the voice of the Persecuted Church and to influence
world leaders in the neighboring United Nations. |
