Religious Liberty Commission

WEA RLC Scriptural Justification

The following passages of Holy Scripture suggest that the purpose of the WEA Religious Liberty Commission has a sound biblical basis.

  • II Timothy 3:12
... everyone who wants to live a holy life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted...

  • Hebrews 13:3
Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

  • 1 Peter 2: 13-17, especially verse 16
Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.

  • Hebrews 10: 32-39, especially verse 34
You sympathized with those in prison, and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.
